How does MySingleFriend work? As this dating site review will reveal, the MySingleFriend experience is pretty unique amongst the countless websites that are out there. This resource is based on the ethos that your best friends can give an honest and objective opinion on your strengths, right down to composing your dating profile.

Free registration
Thorough questionnaire for best matches
Email address is required
Creating a member login or a mobile login is a straightforward process. To register for free, you are asked basic questions (name, date of birth, date preferences, and email address).
To register, you complete a web form asking about your location and whether you are seeking just online friends, activity partners, friends, something casual, a short-term relationship, let's see what happens, a long-term relationship. You are asked to indicate if you are happy for your information to be shared with associated partner websites, tablet editions, and emails.
You create a profile in five steps. Page one covers your physical description and ethnicity. Page two covers the match type you're seeking, from gender, age, star-sign, and photo to their locations (you can select up to 10 countries.) You can then specify physical characteristics, whether they smoke, ethnicity, education, religion, and so on. Page three is where you can add a narrative to give members a 'glimpse of your personality.' You are also asked to expand on your ideal match. Page four invites you to upload a photo. Page five covers the all-important 'ask a friend for recommendations.' Page six is a more in-depth questionnaire about your personality.
Pros & Cons
The approach of inviting a friend to be 'matchmaker' is highly original, and a lot of fun.
Membership numbers aren't so good in smaller towns. Some work could be done in refining the drop-down menus for locations. For instance, in Scotland, there are no counties for the Greater Glasgow or Edinburgh vicinities; instead, there is a catch-all 'Central' parameter which doesn't really apply to either.

Easy to Use
The site is well-designed, with a user-friendly and modern-looking interface. After having created your profile, you need to wait on the admin team reviewing your information before you can access the site's features.
Special features of MySingleFriend include Mail (which, unlike the majority of dating sites) you can read for free. Oneliners are pre-written texts you can use to reply to messages received. You can Like someone's profile – they'll be notified they've received your Like. You can Bookmark favorite profiles without the subject knowing this. Finally, Veto gives your stated friend the power to recommend single types you might be interested in.
Search Functions
The search on MySingleFriend is straightforward. Non-subscribed members can do a basic search of profiles according to gender, age, and search by city or other location parameters. Subscribed members gain access to the Advanced Search, which defaults to fields as specified in your profile. Even non-subscribed members can participate in basic messaging.
Safety & Security
MySingleFriend customer service is comprehensive, as you would expect, given that one of the co-founders is a TV personality with a reputation to protect. Email verification is required to authenticate your details, and a FAQ answers the main pertinent questions likely to arise. There are separate pages covering dating safety and the site's privacy policy. You can contact customer service by filling in a webform if your question hasn't been covered in a FAQ.
Summary
MySingleFriend has a unique selling point. Unlike the generally accepted modus operandi of dating sites, where singles sign up to gain access to profiles of eligible singles, the twist here is that friends are invited to provide the all-important details. This is intended to remove so much of the hassle from writing your own profile, where it can be difficult to present an objective and truthful statement.
